Disappointment Averted

As you can see from the 2 slide shows, above and below, we went away this weekend. Totally not planned hence the shorts we are wearing in the freezing rain. It all started when the boys were supposed to go on a campout with jake and then it got cancelled. we thought they would just forget so we didn't say anything. Then Jake found Alex packing for the trip when he woke up friday morning. And if you know Alex you can imagine the hysterics. So Jake left me in charge of trying to find something to do, thanks Jake!! Luckily Brecka helped me out. So we went and stayed in Ogden, om-goodness, that place is a dive. The whole city has gone to pots, except for the block around the temple. Anyways we ate dinner at dennys, because my kids love breakfast foods, then we swam and swam and hot-tubed, it was great. Sleep was a whole other obstacle. But we managed to wake uncranky. We headed out to the dinosuar park, in the rain. Luckily it stopped pouring while we were inside looking around. The outside park area is awesome, the kids loved it. Then we headed down to the Hill Aerospace museum, and it was really cool. Alex was bummed when he couldn't go in any of them but still enjoyed himself, and because they were so good they got to pick out a souvenir. Maddie picked an airplane pen, because she loves to write, and the boys picked out slingshots, because the love to break my windows :) We haven't had any incidents yet, knock on wood for me. Then we left and went to wingers in kaysville. It is my kids fav. place to eat, and we are fortunate that the kids are so good in restaurants. We love that we can let them expreince these things and learn from the experiences. The highlight was finding pics and history on sen Garn and his father. Alex thought it was cool that they had the same name as him.

What a fun weekend! I would love to get Randy to schedule a weekend off - besides the rain it looked like a lot of fun. On the eating out, the older 3 are great - we have to get Emily trained so I can sit for more than 10 minutes and enjoy a meal! Maybe she is the caboose!
