It has been a long day my kids don't like me very much, but I am officialy caught up. I didn't think about the order when I started so they are totaly random, as I came along pictures in the files. Sorry! Also I just wanted to get done so I'm sure there are alot of errors, just ignore them. And don't get started unless you have lots of time, because their are about 25 new posts and even more pictures than that. I am glad I did it, it was fun to remince about the past couple of years. I feel like now that I am caught up it won't be so daunting to keep up with it, I hope at least. Enjoy!!!

San Diego 2010

This was a trip we desperately needed, and we enjoyed every minute of it. My side of the family goes to the same camping site in Cardiff by the Sea, Ca. every July. We can't always go but love it when we can. This year was ecspecially nice because really only Ryker needed tending too. The boys spent countless hours perfecting their body surfing and Alex, his Tan. I loved the train waking Ryker up every morning at 6am so that I had a reason to get up and walk along the beach each morning. Okay I did make Jake get up a few mornings. There is something about the beach, the coll mornings with the fog trying to lift. Or the sound of the waves breaking, the birds, the sun peaking through. I don't know but I was made for it. Even Jake agreed that if we could afford to live there He would. It was sad to come home, litterally Alex and Easton were sobbing when we left. But we have the next trip to look forward to.

Christmas 2010

What a wonderful year! we had all of, or at least most of them in town for a wedding, Cousin Jesse and his new wife Joslyn. So we had an even bigger than usual family party. My Mom rented out the new pavillion in Riverton, and we decorated the grandpas and then lit them up. We made hundreds of paper snowballs and threw them at the grandmas. Frosted cookies, ate soups of all kinds and SANTA even came. It was so fabulous! and of course when the big day came my kids were grateful for what they got and grandma and grandpa came through big time.

Easton turns 7

Easton turned 7 in December. He is still very small but has a BIG personality. He is very into sharks right now, hence the stuffed shark. he was so excited to get a whipstick, not quite ready for a ripstick, but wanted to be COOL like Alex. Grateful the family who always makes his day so special, even when it's the same week as christmas.

Maddie turns 12

Maddie turned 12!! So sad to see her grow. We actually did a back to school/bday party with her friends because thanksgiving time is always so hectic and she misses out on having parties. It was very fun, we had both sets of friends which made for an interesting night. I was pleasantly surprised how her neighborhood friends included her school friends. We made necklaces and ate pizza and even had a sleepover. It was a lot of work but worth it.

Circus 2010

Alex turned 9 years old this september. It was a meager birthday but very meaningful. I decided to surprise Alex with cupcakes as he walked in from school, totally surprised, SCORE! then we went downtown to Tucanos for dinner, the kids loved it, which is good because it makes it easier for us to want to take them places when they are places we enjoy too. Then we headed to the circus, I had won tickets at my class reunion. It was a very fun day!!

I'm not going to lie this was the worst trip ever. It was cold and windy and we took the dogs for the first time. Just so not fun for a mom. But the kids managed to have a little fun and as always I got some dang cute pictures.

Turkey Trot 2010

This years turkey trot was very exciting. Easton did very well and Alex took 3rd for their grades. Alex has won every year since kindergarten so to lose was very hard ecspecially when it was sooo close, but it was easy when he found out a friend from church beat him. Way to go Jacob!

Budding Artist

Last spring all of the 2nd graders were asked to draw a picture about Bikes for School, which is an organization that donates a bike to every 2nd grader in underprivledge schools in Utah. Well Alexs' teacher took me aside one day while I was volunteering, and she started to cry. Oh Man! we had been struggling with ADD all year and she had finally had enough. But that wasn't it, she was sooo excited to tell me that Alex had won the contest. She was by far the best teacher ever, really worked hard to accomodate Alexs' needs, love her. Anyways I had to keep it a secret for a long time, finally there was going to be an assembly, and I was thinking it was like there Eagle of the Quarter assembly, and they would just preesent it to him at the end. But NO, the whole school was brought down just to see him get his award. It was a very proud moment for us. Then when every kid got their bike, they also got a t-shirt with his drawing printed on it. He loves to draw and definetly has his Grandpa Gus' talent.

Park City Summer 2010

Jakes' youngest brother got married this August and a few of us siblings took the opportunity to make a weekend of it. Thanks to craig for securing the best suite in town! Loved it and so did the kids. The boys slept outside on the roof top deck and the girls all squished in one bed. We took up the bikes and spent a day at the alpine slides, it was a fabulous weekend.

Alex played his first year of tackle football this fall. He didn't exactly LOVE IT. But he was good at it. He says it sucked to get tackled. Jake actually thought he did pretty good and hopes he will try again next year.

Easton Tries Soccer

So Easton decided that he wanted to try soccer last year, much to his fathers dismay. He loved it so much he is skipping baseball and playing again this year. I only have a few shots that even remotely turned out. It's kind of hard to take pics of someone running when you have a toddler constantly pulling on you. I will practice for this year.

Family Mishaps

Well pictures speak volumes don't they. In these first 2 pics. Maddie had to have ear surgery. Her ENT found a Cholestiastoma on her ear drum, very serious and had to be removed immediately. It is like a cancerous tumor in the middle ear. As it grows it kind of secretes a liquid of sorts that breaks down it's surroundings. It was on her bad ear, which was bad news! Dr. Muntz removed it successfully and she now has the worlds smallest prosthetic. They had to replace her "hammer" bone, forget the real name. We were hoping with the repairs that her hearing would improve significantly, but only by about 50%. She is awaiting a second surgery on her left ear this spring, but Dr. Muntz wants to wait until hopefully some of her hearing comes back in the right ear, so that she is not rendered deaf while in recovery. The second picture shows Alex giving her a drink, so sweet. She had to stay overnight in the hospital and lay on her side so that the prosthetic could set properly. It was an unexpected stay since we did not know that extent of the damage until they went in.

The Third pic is of Rykers fat lip caused by a preventable collision with the asphalt. Alex was suppossed to be pushing him in the stroller behind us and we suddenly heard screaming, from Alex, who was trying to get the stroller upright with my then 9 month old baby. Ryker had taken nearly six months to get his front teeth in and it had litterally popped through 3 days prior and in an instant gone! Thats right no longer there, and he has the best smile :( But oh Well we can expect a new one in about 6 years.

The last picture is of Maddie having a sleep study done. Well not really for sleep but they needed her asleep for the test. She had had 2 seizures in one day in April. It was very scary and a very long story. But were a re blessed that she has not had any more and is doing well physically. She is a MIRACLE in every way and a blessing to our family.

Track season 2010

So Alex had ran track in 2009 at bingham H.S. but this summer we decided to try it through Dimple Dell. They practiced at Jordan H.S. which was just way more convient. Maddie and Easton joined him this year, neither took it as seriously as Alex of course. But they did awesome it is the best way to keep kids moving all summer. And I was so impressed with the coaches and how well they worked with my Maddie, she felt special and include just like everyone else. Best part was that she didn't even care if she was behind everyone else, she was having FUN !!

Rykers Blessing

ski season 2010

So last January I cut through both of the tendons in my right pinkie finger. Dr. said it was the worst place to cut yourself becuase it was hard to repair and a very slow lengthy recovery and therapy. So Uncle Mark helped Jake take the kids skiiing that year. It was really hard to be out of the game for nearly two years, but I was really gratefull for the help I received.

In October of 2008 we took a family cruise to celebrate Jakes' parents 50th anniversary. Needless to say it was a blast. I can't wait for the next excuse to go on one.

Yellowstone

Our July trip to Yellowstone was Fabulous!! The weather was perfect everyone got along we had oodles of fun and we got to see G and G Dyer. These pics are in reverse order but you'll get the idea. Tracie booked us a cabin at Macks Inn we took bikes and a Four wheeler, we went on walks, played games had movie nights it was awesome. We spent one day in Yellowstone, we saw some great animals and watched Old Faithfull explode. Johnny Sacks cabin was just down the street from ours and it was really cool too. The highlight was the last day when it was finally somewhat warm enough to run the river. It took us three hours and alot of rowing to get 5 adults and 11 kids, 1 raft and 8 tubes, but it was a blast.

It's no secret that the Garn boys can run fast, and Alex has certainly inherited that talent.He ran with the South Valley Track Club this summer, he loved every minute of it, we were so proud of him. In all he received 9 ribbons, WAY TO GO ALEX !!!!

We had a wonderful 4th of July, I always love spending time with family. We had already done the carnival thing a few days prior, Alex and Max braved the Ring of Fire ride. Their faces were priceless, I couldn't stop laughing. Needless to say they put on a good front but choose not to ride it again:) The parade was on friday night and was as fabulous as ever, I can't wait to live in Riverton again one of these days. Saturday morning we had our ward flag ceremony and breafast. We actually made it on time to the flag ceremony and then at breakfast, which was delicious, Lleyton barfed everywhere, story of my life. I can never have all my kids healty at one time. We spent the day swimming and watched fireworks it was very nice and relaxing. I almost forgot about the rodeo, Alex would be so mad if I didn't mention that he actually got money on the cash cows this year, yipee!!

Friday we had a great time with our neighbors the Seth, Melissa, Mykelle, and Trey Scott. We BBQ and then set up air matresses out on their deck and grass. Alex started the night off with a fantastic rendition of " The Beast" fromthe movie Sandlot. He has the whole thing memorized and he does it with such seriousness and gusto. Then we roasted mallows and had smores. Easton didn't quite make it through the whole night. Lleyton and Ryker slept in on the couch because they had fallen asleep just after dinner. We really roughed it by bringing out movies and DVD players so that we could have an outdoor movie night. It really was alot of fun even though us parents didn't get much sleep. Somehow Trey ended up on the grass and had to be put back on the matress and Alex yelled out something in his sleep, and then the raindrops that would come and go, whaat FUN!!! Seth topped off the fun the next day by making us french toast for breakfast.

We had a great day last week with my sisters and cousin Brit, Jake even came, which made my life easier. I think he has a better understanding of when we say, "we do these things for our kids", that we really mean it. We do things with our kids so that they can have experiences not so that we can sit and talk. We chaed kids all over the farm that day. enjoy the cute pics.

Lleyton goes to preschool

Lleyton started preschool on tuesday this week. He goes to Smart kids Preschool just like the other boys did. They love ms. Allisa (Melissa), she lives next door and is a great friend and teacher. We have been very lucky to have her, my boys are not the easiest to deal with. I was getting Lleyton ready and I told him to go get his tennies and he came back down stairs with his flip flops, A.K.A. spiderman slippers, his too small orange hat, and his spiderman back pack, and an apple that he found I don't know where. He is the cutest thing ever, I love his personality!!

Rykers' Blessing

Ryker Emmett Garn was blessed on Sunday, June 7th 2009. It was a horribly rainy day, but the spirit warmed everything up. I am so greatful to a wonderful husband who can hold the priesthood and uses. Jake is a wonderful Dad, he has gotten so much more patuent and loving with our 5 kids. He loves them so much that he complained the other day that it takes forever to feed Ryker at night, it took him over an hour. I told him it only takes me 20 min. flat. I know he is probably playing with him as he tries to feed him and he gets him all wound up and thats why he has a hard time getting him back to sleep. I sit in my dark closet and don't talk at all to him, he practically eats in his sleep when I feed him. Speaking of Ryker he just turned 2 months old, and he is the cutest happiest thing ever. He loves to laugh and has started cooing at us and making sounds with his tongue. It is precious, and Jake loves that he is home more and gets to experience it this time around.

Soaring Eagle Awards

Alex recieved the Soaring Eagle Award at school today. We are so proud of him. Each grade has a list of things that they expect the kids to know and do throughout the year. In first grade they had to complete 15 out of 20. Alex did 17. Not everyone is diligent enough to earn this, so congrats to everyone who did!!!

Memorial Day Weekend 2009

I know there are a ton of pictures on this post but Abbey did such a good job and they were all so cute. We had a great time at Aunt Bev's pool up in Morgan. We reminisced about our visits there with Jamie and laughed at the goofy things our kids did. The only way we could get Lleyton and Libby to go down the slide was on Jakes back and Easton was definetly the bravest when it came to jumping off the diving board.

PCMC

So I didn't exactly have the best Mothers Day ever. I ended up at primary childrens hospital with little Ryker. He woke up saturday with a temp of 100.4 so we took him to the instacare, who sent us to PCMC. It was a very long 36 hrs. The poor thing had to endure a catheter with no anesthia, An I.V. for taking tons of blood and giving him 3 different kinds of antibiotics, They had to suction his nose out every 2 hours so that he could breathe and then to top it all off he had to have a spinal tap. It was horrible, I am not going to lie I was an emotional wreck. I was sicker than a dog too and hadn't been sleeping well and then the dr.'s and nurses kept waking us up every 2 hrs for tests or vitals or meds. Needless to say I cried all day in that room when noone was a round. I am so grateful that Jake was able to come up each night and see me, thanks to everyone who helped our family, again. Luckily his temp went down and the cultures all came back neg. so he is home and doing much better now. He is officially 5 weeks old today and is putting on weight like elephant baby. He has been the best baby, he only wakes up once at night and is super good all day. We are so grateful to have him in our lives. And he already fits in so well, he is a fever pitch movie watcher just like the rest of us.

Ryker is doing so much better now that he is on a lactose free formula. He gained 15oz. in one week, and now weighs 8lbs. 10 oz. and is 20 1/2 in long. I just had to get a picture of him holding Jakes big sausages. He grabs onto jakes fingers as soon as he feels them, it is sooo adorable.

so Easton is not sold on baseball yet. We should have figured the kid we named for our love of baseball would rather play soccer. Jake of course is totally against this idea. But Eventually Easton will win the battle. However even if he doesn't love it, he still looks dang cute in his baggy pants.

Alex has been working so hard this season to improve his pitching, and it finally paid off. I had tears in my eyes at his reaction to his first strike out. It was priceless. He is such a hard worker and is always begging Jake to go out and practice with him. Jake of course is thrilled that Alex has such a passion for it. He is ecspecially excited about his swing he rarely misses the ball and has perfect form, or so his dad thinks. We are very proud of his hard work and determination.

Special Delivery

Ryker Emmett Garn is now officially a member of the family. He was born on Wednesday, April 15th 2009 at 2:22 p.m. He weighed 7 lbs. and 5 oz. and was 20 in. long. He was 5 days late so I was induced it only took 6 1/2 hrs flat. I have become a pro at the pushing and he head was shaped perfectly because he wasn't in the birth canal long enough for it to get cone shaped. The labor was pretty typical except that I went from a 4 to a 10 in exactly 1 hr. He is not much of a crier, only when he wants food. He did have some spitting up problems his first week and we almost had to take him to PCMC for an upper GI, but we switched to a nonlactose formula yesterday and he is doing better, so I cancelled the appt. We will see what Dr. B thinks next week and go from there, but I think he is going to be just fine. He has not spit up once since yesterday, YEAH! Everyone is loving having him here at last, even Lleyton. Maddie, Alex and Easton are still fighting over who gets to hold him, unfortunately Maddie is home sick this week with Influenza B and an ear infection. We are hoping that keeping her quarantined will limit the number of other kids who get sick.

Easter fun

I have a ton of pics of course, but tried to limit it to just my favorites. We had a great time at G and G Gus'. Mom always spoils the kids and it was so nice to be able to relax and play cards. And we didn't even have any kid fights!! Sunday went well also, it was my last sunday before the babe comes. I am a little nervous about leaving my primary kids for several weeks but know that they ladies helping me will do a good job. We spent sunday evening at the G and Garns, it was so nice to be there by ourselves, without all the crazy cousins. Jake and I hid Easter eggs in their huge yard, and the kids had a blast finding them.

What a weekend

Well I was hoping to have a nice relaxing weekend, and spring break, with my kids before the baby comes, but of course that is never the case. On friday, Jake left to take Alex skiing one more time and before he had even got on the slopes, back at home, Easton bit through his tongue. I was to panicked to unhitch Jakes truck and trailer so my sweet neighbor buckled him in her van, while I prepared to leave Maddie home alone with my 3 yr old, Lleyton. Luckily my other friend Yuriko showed up in the meantime and offered to leave her daughter and son to help out. She made sure they had lunch and everything. I am so greatfull for these amazing woman in my life. Anyways the bleeding was out of control and he kept spitting it in a plastic cup like a boxer might do. But it was just so much blood, I was getting sick looking at it, and I have a pretty strong stomach. The instacare docs sent us to primary so off I went. Poor Easton was so brave, he finally stopped crying, but didn't want to swallow so we went through countless numbers of gauze pads that day. I finally got a really good look at it, and wanted to cry. I know how bad it hurts just to bite it a little bit, but this was 1/2 way back on the widest thickest part of his tongue. It was a perfect 1/2 moon from side to side and was very deep, it looked like cutting through a raw steak, blood oozing out annd all. Jake finally decided that the snow was crappy and to come meet me at PCMC. I was very gratefull because I could hardly hold him Easton on my prego lap and the baby kept kicking against him. Plus I knew if we had to sedate him that I would need his help. Finally 4 hrs later and 4 nurses and 5 docs later the last dr. said he would be fine. I was a little irritated because everyone else up to that point was preparing us for the inevitable it seemed like and they even brought the IV nurse in iwth them, and then the Head ENT doc. said, without hesitation, that he would be fine. I was very nervous about infection and all that but greatfull he wouldn't have to have stitches. He was so cute, he didn't want to tell anyone what happened and so he said he couldn't remember. He didn't eat anything for almost 48 hrs. and barely drank, I have never smelt breath that bad before in my life. I told him that is what a pirates breathe must smell like. He made us a little nervous because he was sleeping so much and basically missed out on all the Easter fun, but when we got home Sat. night he drank some slushy finally and decided that drinking was okay. Then he told me how it really happened, He fell from the monkey bars and hit the teeter-totter on the way down with his shirt in his mouth, He asked if he was in trouble. I said no, because that could have happened to anyone on wet monkey bars, but I was mad that he was sucking on his clothes. However it probably saved hom from bitting it all the way off, and then the dogs would have just ate it. All in all he is doing better and it is amazing how quickly it is healing. Sorry no pics he wasn't really interested in posing for pics.

Maddie and I were sick of all the boys at our house on Confrence Sunday, so we locked ourselves in the Bathroom and did our hair and makeup. For those who know Maddie, this was huge. She hates getting her hair done, usually. But lately she has wanted to do makeup and get dressed up. So I am definetly taking advantage of it. Easton and Lleyton wanted in on the pics too, enjoy.

Almost there

So I officially am due in one week from today. There will be no pics of my belly, because it is not so pretty naked after five kids. I don't think I will make it to my due date, which would be a miracle since all the other boys were at least 10 days over. I am miserable and in constant pain. this kid never stops moving, litteraly. Jake says it's from all the Coke Zero I drink. I am having major anxiety over his name, we still can't agree. I want Ryker and Jake wants Emmett. I doubt I will post again until after the baby comes, so you will have to wait and see the outcome just like us.

one last run

So we made it up to D.V. one last time. It was a great day, Dan and Tracie came with their kids and Papa brought Libby. It wass a beautiful day, I just sat outside and watched everyone. We all got racoon burns, ecspecially Alex. We couldn't stop laughing, if I had more energy I would have taken a picture. Easton was thrilled because Grandpa took him on Little Kate, just like all the other big kids. He did awesome, and Papa was so patient, even when Easston didn't want to get off the mtn.

Success at last

So after a year of trying, off and on, Lleyton is now finally Potty Trained. And just in the nick of time, since the baby will be here any day. I just had to take these pics of his cute little tiny hiny. We're still working on getting him to just stand up because he won't touch his own penis to push it down and I am getting tired of the mess. But his insists that he has to sit like a mommy. Oh well at least I will only have one id in diapers now.

Lleyton turns 3 !!

We are so excited that Lleyton is 3 years old now. He is so grown up and has no problem keeping up with his brothers. He loves them and is always imitating them. He loves baseball and can throw up a ball and hit it all by himself. He talks so much and knows so many big words, it's scary what he picks up on sometimes. He is my the mama's boy, and usually I love it. I know he will gow out of it soon so I am going to take it while I can get it.

Grandma knows how much the boys in our family love B-Ball, they had to even open it and go play out in the freezing rain/snow that night.

Winter Wonderland

I love spring skiing in Utah, and last friday was no exception. It was absolutely beautiful. The slopes got a fresh covering and by the time we got up there the skies were blue. As you can see from Jake picture it was a little frigid at first, but it warmed up quickly and the kids had a fabulous time. A special thanks to Jake, Dad, and Brecka for helping out with the kids this year, I didn't think skiing at 34 weeks would make my doctor very happy. But I am so grateful for them for helping to make lasting memories with my kids and giving up time to help them develop a love for the sport. I am so proud of my kids for wanting to ski and so thrilled that they have all learned so easily. Maddie and Liberty were ski buddies all day, and Maddie loved having a girl that she could keep up with. I am proud of her for not giving up. Alex and Jake spent most of the time on Little Kate, Alex was getting very bored with the bunny hill. It was a great day spent with his Dad. Thanks again to Dad and Brecka who helped with the other 2 so that Jake could have that time with Alex. I am ecspecially proud of Easton, he had crappy, too tight boots on, but hardly complained at all. He just wanted to ski with his Grandpa, and no one else. Although he was a little mad that we didn't let him try out Little Kate. He said this week he is going to work really hard so that he can take his tip toys off and go on the big hill.

I know what a loser it is the last week of february and I barely making my first post of 2009. Life has been crazy at the Garn home and there never seems to be enough time for everything that needs to get done. I will try to update you as best as possible. Alex started basketball in January and got to play with his cousin Max. It was a great learning experience and he all loved having a distraction to get us out of the house on saturdays.

I finally got the boys bathroom repainted and decorated, mine is next, then Lleyton and the babys' room. I have so much to do and only 7 more weeks.

I am getting so excited to see if he will look like Alex and Lleyton or more like Easton. Who by the way is so excited for his brother to get here. He sits by me every night and lets him kick his face. I really hope that they are close, Easton needs someone special to be his buddy. All of our kids are growing so fast. I love seeing their new personalities emerge, but still love looking at old photos the best. Lleyton continues to be defiant about potty training. He is totally in control, some days he does great other days I find his wet underwear all over the house. It has been very frustrating to say the least, ecspecially since Easton and Alex trained so easily and early. But he is the cutest thing and can't help loving him. Last week I caught him playing Maddies D.S. behind the chair. The picture just doesn't do the moment justice. Easton and I were laughing so hard, because he didn't even seem to know that we were watching him or taking pictures, he just kept screaming, "Hot wheels, beat that! "

It is fun to hear him using bigger words and creating phrases with them. He is very much like Alex, he takes absolutely everything in and memorizes commercials and show songs and then repeats them all day.

Well I certainly hope that I find time to post before the baby comes. see ya for now.

Christmas Day

Could there have been more snow or what. It was totally AWESOME!!! It made the whole day seem so sweet and clean, like a fresh start to our new year. We started the day off very early. Mr and Mrs Claus had set their alarm to set presents out at 5:00 and finally got back to bed around 5:30. I don't think I even fell asleep because they baby was tossing and kicking, when we heard Alex down stairs at 6:00. Then I heard Lleytons' door slam. I knew it wouldn't be long before curiousity got the better of them. I found Alex, Easton and Lleyton downstairs going through their stockings and enjoying their new headrests. I started Some breakfast then had them watch a new movie, Walle I think, while I went upstairs to get ready. I woke Jake up at 7:30 and we started eating and finaly woke Maddie up at 8:00. This was highly unusual, since she is the one who wakes everyone on a daily basis. We went through gifts as slowly as we could and tried to let the kids enjoy each gift. We were very blessed this year, always being looked after by those who love us. Jake surprised me and Maddie with matching pearl jewelry, it is beautiful. We headed to my parents for an early dinner and gifts and then to Jakes' parents for gifts as well. It was a whirlwind of a day and I am glad it only happens once a year.

Sledding on Christmas Eve

This was the best day ever. Brecka and Will are always so willing to invite us all up to their house to party and this year was no exception. We spent a majority of the time sledding at Masons' Elem. School. It was the perfect size hill, most the kids could climb back up by them selves, we didn't have any injuries, and we didn't have to share the hill. That is a receipe for a great day of sledding. I love that my Dad still sleds and that the men have just as much fun as the little boys, buut best of all we have some pretty tough chicklets in our family. Ana Just kept going and going, and usually had Lleyton or Boston jump on her back. I know Maddie looks terrified, but really she was just bracing herself to go off Uncle Wills' jump he made. It was a great night!!!!

Holiday Traditions

We have some great traditions as a larger Gustaveson Family, but as our small little Garn Family we started a couple of years ago, we call First Snow Night. On the First Snow of December we all have dinner and then watch White Christmas together. It is one of my all time favorite shows and I look forward to the holidays every year just so that I have an excuse to watch it. The boys enjoyed playing in the snow during the day, although it was to powdery to build a snowmen, they just made snow hoagies and had an outdoor picnic. Lleyton was using the dogs' ball thrower to pic up and eat his snow. It's a atrue wonder that boys don't get sick more often.

Easton has been waiting to turn 5 for 2 yrs now. He is so excited to get to go to kindergarten like Alex did when he was 5, 2 yrs ago. He had a great birthday. We celebrated it on the 7th not the 19th, but who's telling, not us. The following week we went to Zoo lights with Brecka and her kids. It was freezing, but the kids had a great time. Mason and Libby were nice enough to share their 3d glasses with the boys who thought they were super cool. We didn't do parties this year but took the kids out to dinner instead. We happened to be going that night and were glad Brecka agreed to go with us it was super fun. The kids all like going to Wingers, but after 4 dinners there in the past 5 months, I am going to try to convince them to try somewhere new this year.

Cabin Fever

Every year we get together with my cousins on the Gustaveson side to party and do gift exchanges. It's not quite as fun as it used to be when we were little and we all slept over at someones house and then woke the adults up by banging on the ceiling with broom sticks !!!! AW the good old days. But it is fun to watch all of our kids growing up together like we did. This year we did a book exchange for the kids, obvious hit from the pictures, you can see. And as always we played the dice game for the adults. We love it the boys get very competitive, and Will defintely won the most creative wrapping and gift this year. It was so fun to have Aunt Joan and Uncle Terry, or Tim, whatever we are supposed to call him now. I will always call him uncle Terry, just because it has become habit, even though I know it's not his real name.

It has been entirely too long since I have posted, I hope I don't forget anything. My life has been crazy and chaotic this past month. I started out making Jewelry and crafts to sell at the Twilight premiere. Which was a bust. But we had fun anyways. The movie was awesome. I know a lot of people didn't like it, but I went into it knowing it wouldn't be as good as the books. Obviously my imagination is different from every other persons and Summit Entertainments as well. However I thought they did a great job with the budget they had and the 2 hour time limit. Obviously characters could have been develpoed more, but since I already knew the characters it didn't bother me. Over all I was thrilled and cannot wait for it to come out on DVD. The day after the premiere was Madelines 10th birthday. She had a great month. She started off with her sleepover with my parents and then going to the BYU game with them. She loves BYU. Then she was kind enough to invite her brothers to her special dinner and a movie, we always go to Wingers. the kids love it. Then she went to dinner and a salon with my Mom, Grandma, Taylor and Libby. They got manicures and their hair done. She looked beautiful. I have been horrible with pics lately so I will post as soon ass I get them from my Dad and Danny. Then on the last day of school Alex had his Turkey Trot at school. He won the kindergarten race last year, so he naturally assumed he would win 1st grade ass well. But since it seems like everyone grew but him, I didn't want him to be disappointed so I told him it was okay to just do his best, no matter what place he came in. And Alex baing Alex set a goal for himself. He told me he was going to start out at the back of the group and still beat everyone. I thought for sure he would trip trying to get around people or he would trip someone else, but lo and behold he rounds the first corner ahead of everyone. He never stopped or looked back, it was all him. The next kids was at least 30 yards behind him. He was so proud of hiimself, and I was proud that he was not cocky to his friends, he just congratulated them and the went to cheer on the other grades. Thanksgiving was a whirlwind of course. I am beginning to hate Holidays. They are to time consuming and stressful for mothers. What we do for our kids right. I am glad it is over and not looking forward to Christmas now. I know Bah Hum Bug!

We catch Tucker staying warm at Harleys expense all the time, and today Jake comes running down the stairs with the camera so that he can get a better shot of them. Tucker has a shorts but thick coat, obviously not thick enough to keep the cold out though. We only catch him sitting on her in the winter months. He hates the cold cement and obviously the wet grass too.

So for those of you have not seen me in awhile, I am expecting my 5th child in april. And is't a boy. Even with all of our hopes and Eastons constant praying for a sister, we will now have 4 boys at our house. I told Maddie that it just means we will get better girl nights out, beacause there are only 2 of us. She's still not so sure about that logic, but if you know Maddie, you know she will be a mother hen once he gets here. Lleyton has taken to caring around a doll and Alex is very excited. Easton still wants a "girler" baby, so he says he will borrow Esme and Olivia to play with. Jake has informed me that this has to be it, really how much more can I expect him to work. But after much Prayer and thought on my part I am happy to say that I now feel our family is complete. If you have any boy names throw them my way, we don't think Joseline or Mallory is going to fly for a boy name!! help.

So last night my sisters and I got our kids together and had a pep rally for the WILDCATS!! It was so much fun. we had pizza and painted our faces, decorated our cars, and were plain silly. We had such a great time and the movie was FABULOUS!Troy totally pulled an Edward Cullen, hiding out in the tree waiting for Gabriella. Which of course only makes waiting for TWILIGHT even harder. If you haven't seen it, you will (just admit it) and you will be wondering why the boys at our highschool couldn't move like that :)

So finally after 11 years of marriage we left our kids, all four of them, for 10 days while we went on a Garn Family Cruise. It is Jakes' parents 50th anniversary this year and they wanted to something fun as a family. It turned out to be a great time for all. We took a 7 day cruise of the Eastern Carribean. We stopped in St. Maarten, San Juan, and Haiti. The wind was horrible and made my sea sickness even worse. But it was breathtakingly beautiful and grea to be with just Jake. Because I want my kids to remeber this when it gets published you will have to suffer through all the picutres, Sorry.

So Alex Finally turned 7. He celebrated for nearly a week. Now he will be counting down to 8, he really wanted to be baptized this year. Anyways, Jake and I are doing mommy-daddy dates with our kids this year (as seen on Jon and Kate plus 8, our fams fav. show)Alex hadd a whole list of places to go and things to do that he posted on the fridge, even before my birthday. I had to look at it everyday, all day long. He finally choose to go to Boondocks, he loves racecars, so this was a perfect activity for him. Then on friday G and G gustaveson picked him up for dinner at Macaroni grille. He thought it was so fancy, because there was "Paris" music playing. And he loves going to restaurants because he loves the "take home chef". Food is definetly a list topper for him. Mom said he wass in awe at Build-a-bear, and was totally dead serious about his wish. Then they went home, and he wanted Dad to play air-hockey with him. Later my Mom found him in a trance with the Bose headphones on watching Transformers on their big Screen. The next morning he went to some egg shop with Dad and Uncle Ian, and then met Jake and my Mom for the Byu game. And it doesn't even end there, then on Sunday(5 days into his bday celebration now) we had my family over for his and Bostons' Birthdays. It was fun, and exciting and crowded but all worth it. My family is everything to me.

FORKS OR BUST !!

So you all know by now that I am a Twilight addict. I have enjoyed reading and rereading the books several times. I mean honestly can we ever get enough of Edward Cullen! So when my friend Tara asked to go to Forks, WA with herhow could I refuse. I couldn't believe jake was actually letting me go. And while I am on the subject I just have to say how pleased I was with Jake while I was gone. The house was clean, the dishes done, and he even started the laundry. Not to mention that all of the kids were still alive when we got home. I started this journey about 4 months ago. We formed a group, which eventually grew into 60 women, and we wanted to make it a memorable trip for them. Which we are glad we did because the other 4 groups of twilight moms going had nothing fun planned and we felt sorry for them. To truely understand the weekend let me explain what we did for the group. We made charm bracelets and at every meal we gave them a new charm to add to the bracelet. They were all of the faces of the main characters from twilight. super cute, but we couldn't just stop there we also had a small bag with an item that represented the character charm they were getting ( Bella and Edward: Sparkle spray, Esme: whistle, Carlisle: first aide kit, Jacob: hand warmer, Emmette: gummy bears, Rosalie: comb, Alice: Poncho, Jasper: mood ring), if you haven't read the books you won't understand the significance. Then we made name tags and small schedules, which everyone stuck too. We also played several games over the 3 days including the "Dazzle" jar. Which allowed people to someones name in the jar if the had Dazzled them. Then we got them gift bags full of themed items, i.e. First night on Isle Esme, cooking with Edward, pregnancy cravings, the meadow, etc. It was a lot of fun but a huge headache collecting all of the items. But it was worth it for the woman who won. I would say I enjoyed the trip but I would be lying. Washington was absoluetly magnificent, words cannot describe who beautiful it is. Forks was exactly as I immagined it, they had a lot of fun playing up the weekend for all of us fans. However I didn't get enough sleep before the trip, We drove for 18 hrs. Then Barely slept While we were there trying to finish jewelry to sell at the bday celebration. then drove home for another 18 hrs. I did finally start to enjoy myself after the vendor booth was closed. We went to the Quillette ind res. for a wolf dance and bon fire on 1st beach. It was fabulous, they were so welcoming and the beach was great. My friend Tara got friendly with some army boys, and well what happens in Forks stays in Forks. Nothing too serious though, it just reminded me how glad I am to be 31 and 20 anymore, and how fortunate I am to be in love with Jacob, there are a lot worse options out there. Anyways I hope you enjoy the pics on the post below. And yes I am half asleep in most of the pics and car sick from driving with 2 maniac drivers, so please don't judge the pics with my face in them. It could have been alot worse.

This week has also been one of much reflection for me. We found out that my Favorite Uncle Eldon died last friday and today is the anniversary of my best friend Jamie and her daughter, Alexis' death. I wanted to do this post not only for my kids to realize how important these people were in my life but so that I also can use this blog as a tool when my memory fades. I loved going to see Uncle Eldon and Aunt Deon when we were visiting my grandparents in California. Aunt Deon is my Grandpa Dyers Sister. They have treated us like there own grandkids, literally. Because before they had kids, they would always take us out to Bullwinkles when we came. Which besides the beach and cabin was the highlight of our trips. And my funniest memory with Uncle Eldon was when we had gone to my Grandpas school, he was a high school principal at Blackford H.S. in San Jose, and when we came out Eldon and Deon were waiting for us. Eldon had found a shopping cart on the parking lot and put Ian in it and was push him around at illigal speeds for a shopping cart. I can't believe he didn't crash! Jake and I were thinking about how fortunate we were to have been able to stay with Eldon and Deon when we went out for my Grandparents 50th anniversary. We had some good times and were so gratefull for their hospitality.

Jamie Grundy-Finnerty was not only my best friend but my 4th sister. Jeez I am already crying. Even after 2 years it is so hard for me to think about her without crying. Not because I'm sad, but because I feel like I missed the opportunity to know her better as we got older. She was the girl on the street that every one was friends with because she was so sweet and so nice and nonjudgemental. There were so many family trips were it was just asumed that Jamie was coming because she was literally a member of our family. I remeber my Dad taking her a Brecka to the church parking lot to practice driving and the accordian practices that I would go with Kathy to. I was so jealous back then that she could play a musical instrument, because I have no musical ability at all. Even though we drifted apart during high school, she had her drill friends and we had our own group of friends, we never stopped loving eachother. I remeber her baby shower and watching Alexs' flip in her stomach it was amazing. And that was the begining of her amazing journey as a mother. She has 2 more kids now Caitlyn and Ethan and they live in Arizona still. Jake thinks I am crazy but I have kept her funeral paper in my drawer and I doubt I will ever throw it out. I don't want to forget her ever. I am so glad she has Alexis' with her in heaven, they were so close and it had to end it was the perfect ending, here on earth at least. I will cherish the moment that I see her waiting for me and my sisters. I think of the reunion often. Jamie, thank you for being the Angel that the Gustaveson Family needed.

So every Friday the ladies in my ward do something fun with our kids. We went to the Zoo last friday and it was so nice and cool. Alex took his clip board and drew pics of all his favorite animals. He is getting really good. Notice Maddie holding Lleytons' new harness, LOVE IT !!! It was so nice not to have to take a stroller that no one sits in anymore. And what can I say about Easton. Since I am so luckily to share my Bday with my identical twin sister Tracie, I wanted to wish her a Happy Bday too. She just had her 4th baby on wednesday night. The pics are so cute. She looks just like all her other kids, she is such a tiny little peanut though. Any ways just wanted to tell Tracie how lucky I feel to be her Sister. She once made me a pillow that said, " I am so glad to be your Sister, too bad there's nothing you can do about it." I don't think I ever wanted to not be her sister, except maybe our senior year when she was under Lisa' nasty spell, but truely, I could not ask for a better friend. That is the one thing that I cherish most, knowing that I always have her to rely on. If I had had more time I would have scanned some of our baby pics but my scanner is pretty crappy anyways. Just so you know , we were the cutest twins on the block j/k!! I remeber when we would fight and Mom would tell us to go t our room, which we shared, and fight it out untill there was blood (I finally understand my moms reasoning fofr that after haveing my own kids). Well we would really try hard to go down and hate eachother, but inevitably we would end up laughing and wet our pants instead, we never had good bladder control when it came to laughing :) Then there was the time she threw my hand carved wooden squirrel that my grandpa dyer made for me against our wall ( it was during one of our fights and she knew how much I loved it) and broke it's leg off. Mom made her fix it, but it was never the same. I have sooo many wonderful memories I could go on and on and on. I know you're all wishing you had a twin right now too, come on just admit it. Tracie thank you for being my friend, and keeping me in line, even when I didn't know I was out of it. I love you more than I can honestly express, not only are you my sister you are my best friend. Stake Lagoon Day

So we had our annual stake lagoon day on thursday then 7th and it was awesome. The weather was perfect, not to hot, with a nice breeze. It did make lagoona beach a little cold, but the kids still had fun. It was great to be there with just our little family. I am so irritated with the pics, because my camera got jammed so I couldn't zoom in or out and it and it wasn't focusing properly, uugh!! I was so frustrated.And yes there a lot of pics of Easton and Lleyton because Jake took Maddie and Alex to do big rides so I didn't get very many pics until later in the day of them.

We ended the day with a round of mini golf very fun. The kids were fun to watch

We dumped our stuff off at the stake pavillion and headed right for the log ride, because we were clear in the back anyways. There was no line yet since they had only been opened about 10 min. and no one had made it back that far yet.

Dad and Easton and Lleyton headed for rattlesnake rapids right after the log ride, we got soaked, and I mean soaked. I never dried out, my clothes were still wet even after we spent 2 hrs at lagoona beach.

Breaking Dawn Release Party

O.M.E. I don't even know where to begin. It was the funnest night ever. We started out having an Italian meal (of course), at Marcis' house. Thank you to her for all the great fun. Then we vamped up, see pic below, and then left to get our instructions from B & N about what activities we would be handling. It was awesome, Tara and I and a few other Twilight Moms, were in charge of the " Charlies' werewolve hunt". It was a word scramble in which there were 44 letters on different colored wolves throughout the store, which they unscrambled. It was great fun. I didn't attempt the Bouquet toss, way too many screaming preteens. But it was awesome when all the twilight moms who volunteered got to go to the front of the store to get our books first. Tara and I were the first ones out the doors with are books. Oh happy days. I drove Edward fast back to Marcis' house to get comfy and stake out our reading spots. I won't spoil it for you, but it is tear jerker. It gets a little sketchy at times but is worth it in the end. I officially read it in 21 hrs. It could have been sooner but I had to come home and be a mom for a little while. It is now 11:45 pm on august 2nd and in the last 48 hrs I have only had 9 hrs of sleep. I am feeling so vampish right now because I am not even tired, I am to exhilarated to be. So if someone reads the book and wants to chat, throw me a line or two!!! And for those of you who have not started, do not get frustrated just keep reading. Steph M. is brilliant and by the last 2 chapters I realized that some of the rambling and boring parts were actually very important. So pay attention. and Happy reading of course too. Get a tissue box before you sit down.

Below is a couple pics of me and my girls who are going to Forks next month. Kriselle is Rosalie, Amy is Alice, I am Tanya, and Tara is Hiedi. I was going to go all out and go Strawberry blonde, but I new it would just end up pink on me. So I am just Tanya attending the wedding, OOps spoiler alert!!, and Tara is the Volturi "fisher" who goes and gets the helpless and confused human tourists from Volterra and brings them down for the feeding frenzy. She made her jacket herself.

The cake was made by Tara, the women of many talents, it was red velvet with marshmellow fondant. I looked like blood soaked cake when we cut into it, very appropriate for the occasion. I forgot that we did a wedding toast when we got home from B & N.

Thanks for all the comments about picture flipping and wanting to help me out. I actually do know how to flip them and thought that I had in my program and then when I went to download them to my blog they weren't. Obviously I was having a blonde moment. I will try to fix them later. Ha who am I kidding, Breaking Dawn comes out in 24 hrs. 24 min and 10 sec. I need sleep tonight so that I can pull an all nighter tommorrow to read the book. I will update the last quote of the day in the morning and then you won't hear from me days. do not come back until you have read Breaking Dawn, because most likely I will have posted some spoilers about my opinion on the book. Which we all know I am definetly going to have. :)

Yes, it is true we have been married for 11 years now. Oh how the time flies by. I have to put this on here 2 days early, because It took me 1.5 weeks to reread the twilght sereies and now as I await the release of Breaking Dawn, I will be too busy to blog. I want Jake to know what an extrodinary husband he is. He works like a dog from sun up to sun down litterally. I hope one of these days we get far enough ahead of the game that he can take some down time. In the mean time, I am very gratefull that he works so hard that I can be with kids. Plus an extra special shout out this year since I will be at a B.D. party all night and sleeping over at my friends to read the book, on the night of our anniversary. He has been super understanding with my edward, oops! I mean twilght obsession of course:)Not only is he letting me go out with my girls that night but he also letting me go to Forks, WA in September for Bellas Bday celebration. I am so excited and glad that he understands my need for girl time everyonce in a while. Jacob thank you for four beautiful kids, and for being exactly what I need to keep me grounded. You have put up with a lot of crap from me and you probably deserve better, but I am glad you still love me after all these years.

Ward Campout

We went on our Ward Campout 2 weeks ago. It was alot of fun. We got lost getting there because of a road detour, and Alex was freaking out. So we told him to pray for help. And he did and low and behold a guy stopped and asked if we were going to the stake property, and even drove us there. It was a very good learning experience for the kids. Maddie and Jake helped in the skits which she was totally into, Lleyton pretty much just kept trying to escape. Alex and Easton were in boy heaven, since most of the kids in our ward are boys. Easton doesn't have any girls in his class just the six boys. We had a great breakfast and then went on a hike down Alexanders canyon. You know who thought it was cool. He and Jake had fun with the new walkie-talkies. Check out the cute matching shirts I made us!!

Maddies Day Out

We have a wonderful lady in our ward named Linda, wjo is my piano player in primary. She also happens to be the full time aid in Maddies' regular school class. Any ways she adores Maddie and if you know Maddie, you know she takes to any adult over kids her own age. Linda offerd to take Maddie to Jungle Jims with her daughter and as you can tell from the pictures, she had a wonderful time.

Thank you Mom and Dad for the carnival wristbands, as you can see from the pictures our kids always enjoy it. I know there are alot of pictures of Lleyton this year, but he was at the perfect age to really be excited about everything. And I so glad Jake brought him back for the fireworks, he was in complete awe. I thought his neck would break off from leaning back for so long. Mom thanks for letting us sleepover and take naps at your place. Going back and forth all weekend with gas prices would have broke us.

Alex and Easton loved the rodeo, although Alex was very disappointed that they didn't do the little buckaroo riding this year. He bought a hat and everyting for it. And poor Maddie all she got was another bump on the nogan from that darn pole.
